At the end of April each year, children in Year 4 at Seaside Primary get the chance to spend a week (Monday to Friday) on the Isle of Wight. The children stay in hotel rooms with ensuite toilets and showers. The food, which includes a full cooked English breakfast, is excellent and there is lots of it!

Over the week, the children get to take part in a whole range of activities.

There are walks with spectacular views along Culver Cliff to sketch and explore the geography of the island. There is always a great sense of achievement when the children look back and see how far they have walked!

There are educational visits to the Carisbrook Castle, Osborne House, the Dino Isle dinosaur museum (with a fossil hunt on Sandown Beach) and a ride on a steam train as part of the Steam Railway Experience at Havenstreet.

Towards the end of the visit, the children round off their action-packed week with a day at Blackgang Chine having a go on every ride.  There are also wonderful themed play areas to let their imagination go wild, they can be a pirate with the cannons on a rival ship, and then next, a cowboy chasing outlaws out of town!
