The day consisted of learning to cook classic Anglo-Saxon oatcakes, constructing helmets in an armoury and solving an Anglo-Saxon riddle through an outdoor orienteering activity.

The year group also gathered together to enjoy the famous story of Beowulf, which was retold through drama in our own ‘great hall’. Children ended the day by performing the story through song. Great fun was had by everyone!
