Year 2 travel back to 1666

In history, Year 2 learnt about ‘The Great Fire of London’

Year 2 kicked off the topic by going back to the year 1666 and stepping into the shoes of baker Thomas Farriner.
The children really enjoyed baking their own delicious bread rolls and linked this back to how the fire began in Pudding Lane. They learnt about chronology and created a whole class timeline about the events. They also learnt about Tudor houses and the features that caused the fire to spread. In groups, they created their very own Tudor house and watched Mr Murley set them alight!
